The Story Behind Amore

My name is Anthony DiIorio, owner of Amore Pizzeria & Italian Restaurant.

The restaurant business has been a part of my life since I was a teenager. I started working in restaurants at 13 years old, learning the business from the ground up and discovering early on that this was something I truly loved.

At 14, I began working at Goodfellas Orlando, where I continued learning the craft and trade of the restaurant business. Over the years, I worked my way through the kitchen and learned what it takes to put a great meal on the table—from making pizza and preparing Italian dishes to working through the pressure of a busy kitchen and understanding the importance of consistency and quality.

I also had the opportunity to work at Portofino Bay Hotel, where I continued to develop my skills and gain experience in a different kind of kitchen. Every experience along the way taught me something that I carry with me today.

My family roots are in Queens, New York, and Naples, Italy. Growing up around New York Italian culture and my family's traditions gave me a deep appreciation for simple, comforting food—the kind of food that brings people together around a table.

After years of learning the business and working in kitchens, I decided to take everything I had learned and build something of my own.

That became Amore.

I wanted Amore to feel like a traditional neighborhood Italian restaurant—the kind of place where you can come in for a slice, sit down for a family dinner, or grab a meal to take home and know that it was made with care.

For me, Amore is about more than pizza and pasta. It’s about hospitality, family, hard work, and creating a place where people feel welcome.

I’m grateful to everyone who has supported Amore and allowed us to become part of their lives. Every customer who walks through our doors is a part of the reason we’re here.

From my family to yours, welcome to Amore.

That’s Amore.
